ADA staking calculator for AI inference

The Gatewayz calculator estimates how many dollars of AI inference discount a month your delegated ADA could fund. It multiplies your ADA by Cardano's recent network-wide rewards per ADA per epoch, the 95% reward share, six epochs a month and the ADA price, then applies the $150 monthly per-account cap. It shows a range, never a rate.

The Gatewayz yield-as-inference calculator estimates how many dollars of AI inference discount your delegated ADA could fund each month. Enter the ADA you would delegate and an ADA price; it returns a low-to-high range built from Cardano's network-wide rewards over recent epochs, with the per-account launch cap applied. It is an estimate from public data, not a promised rate.

A range from your own amount, not a rate. The range uses network-wide rewards for an established pool. A new or small pool mints blocks less often, so its rewards vary more from epoch to epoch, and an epoch with no blocks has nothing to share. Inputs and sources

    What goes into the estimate?

Four inputs, each with a source and a date. Only the amount and the ADA price are yours to change.

    • The range uses network-wide rewards for an established pool. A new or small pool mints blocks less often, so its rewards vary more from epoch to epoch, and an epoch with no blocks has nothing to share.
    • Rewards are converted to USD at the ADA price when they are recorded, so the dollar amount moves with ADA.
    • The per-account and program-wide daily limits apply.
    • Network rewards per ADA per epoch. Total rewards divided by active stake for each mainnet epoch from 645 to 662, read from Koios. The lowest and highest values over that window form the range. Rewards come from transaction fees and monetary expansion, after the treasury cut.
    • Reward share. The reward share is the part of the rewards your stake earns Gatewayz that comes back to you: 95% today.
    • Epochs per month. An epoch is five days, so the calculator counts six per month.
    • ADA price. The default is the CoinGecko price on the as-of date. Change it to test a higher or lower price.

The full formula is published in the program's offer file, which agents read through the API:

    usd_per_month = min(amount_ada x network_rewards_per_ada_per_epoch x 0.95 x 6 x ada_usd, 5 x 30)

Why is there a range and no rate?

Because rewards are not fixed. A pool's rewards depend on the blocks it mints, and the number of blocks varies from epoch to epoch. The calculator shows the spread Cardano itself produced over recent epochs instead of a single number, and it never quotes a yearly percentage. The discount is calculated only from rewards Gatewayz has actually received, so the range is a planning aid, not a commitment.

How much can a new pool vary?

More than the range suggests. The inputs describe network-wide rewards, which behave like an established pool's. Small pools mint blocks less often, so their rewards vary more from epoch to epoch, and an epoch in which the pool mints no blocks has nothing to share. Until the Gatewayz pool has meaningful stake, expect some epochs above the range and some below or at zero. Cardano stake pools explained covers why size matters.

What do example amounts look like?

These rows apply the formula above with the default inputs: ADA at $0.2033 (CoinGecko, 2026-10-27), network rewards of 0.00028398 to 0.00029726 per ADA per epoch (Koios, mainnet epochs 645 to 662), a 95% reward share and six epochs a month.

The cap is the launch limit of $5 of discount per account per day, applied as $150 a month. At the default inputs it binds at about 435,000 ADA on the high end of the range and about 456,000 ADA on the low end. Larger holders can still delegate, but one account's discount stops growing past that point; treasuries should read For treasuries.

Launch limits: at most $5 of discount per account per day, and at most $50 per day across the whole program. Limits may change.

How many tokens does a dollar of discount buy?

It depends on the model and on how long your prompts and answers are. AI usage is priced per million tokens, with input and output often priced differently, and every model has its own list price on Gatewayz.

Illustration only, with a made-up price. Suppose a model were listed at $2.00 per million tokens, blended across input and output. A $33 discount balance covers 99% of each request, so it pays for about $33.33 of list-price usage, roughly 16.7 million tokens. Your normal credits pay the remaining 1%, about $0.33. Real models cost more or less than this example; check the list price of the model you use.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the calculator result a promise?

No. It is an estimate built from Cardano's network-wide rewards over recent epochs and the ADA price you enter. Your actual discount depends on the blocks the Gatewayz pool mints and the ADA price when each epoch's rewards are recorded.

Why does the calculator ask for an ADA price?

Because rewards arrive in ADA and the discount is credited in USD. Each epoch's share is converted at the ADA price when it is recorded, so a higher or lower price changes the dollar amount one-for-one.

Why does the estimate stop growing above about 450,000 ADA?

The launch limit allows at most $5 of discount per account per day, which the calculator applies as $150 a month. At the default inputs, delegations of roughly 435,000 to 456,000 ADA reach it.

Does the calculator include the 1% I pay per request?

No. It shows dollars of discount. When you use the discount, each request also takes 1% of its list price from your normal credits, so you need a small credit balance alongside it.

Where do the reward numbers come from?

From Koios epoch data for Cardano mainnet epochs 645 to 662: total rewards divided by active stake. They are network figures, not Gatewayz pool statistics, because the mainnet pool is not live yet.
